Russell Homes renews partnership with Rochdale Hornets
Russell Homes is delighted to announce a renewed three-year partnership with rugby league club, Rochdale Hornets.
Russell Homes has been a proud partner of the club and sponsor of the Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation, for the last four years. The renewal of the partnership until 2025, will support the Hornets’ vision to become one of the most diverse and inclusive clubs in the UK.
Rochdale Hornets Chairman, Andy Mazey, says: “To work with such an illustrious company is a privilege and one that will support the growth of our community framework. We recently announced our ‘community club’ vision, aiming to increase opportunities for wheelchair users, women & girls and people with a disability to get more involved with sport and enjoy everything rugby league has to offer.”
The club have ambitious plans to develop the activity in the Kirholt and Balderstone area, with their new community sports facility.
“So much of what the foundation has been able to achieve is thanks to partners, like Russell Homes, and our future success will come down to this continued funding and support. Our aim is to create more opportunities to play rugby league and sport in general, helping to keep our community more active, healthier and engaged in positive activity. Thank you so much to Russell Homes for helping us to continue to do that.”
The renewed sponsorship comes after the directors were impressed with how the club’s community programme has gone from strength to strength since they got involved in 2019 and their exciting plans for the future, with the new community facility at Balderstone Park.
Joint Managing Director of Russell Homes, Andrew Russell, said: “The foundations work with local schools and community groups is absolutely fantastic! The breadth of activities and the number of people who are benefitting through their programmes is incredible. Whether it’s local schools sports or literacy projects, pathways into rugby league for girls and people with disabilities, support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds with ‘Fit and Fed’ holiday camps, it’s all incredibly impressive and clearly making a huge impact.”
“As a business, we are extremely proud of what the club has achieved over the last four years. Their ambition is admirable and their success is nothing short of inspirational, so we are very pleased to confirm our continued support for the next three years.”
Russell Homes has a long association with Rochdale, having first built new homes in the borough, in 2016. Since then, we have delivered more than 200 new build homes in Norden, Heywood and Littleborough.
