Working directly with housing associations, Russell Homes is delivering mixed tenure developments to meet the needs of the whole community.
Through joint venture agreements and partnerships, we provide homes which offer local people a choice of properties for rent, shared ownership or private ownership. This mix is designed to reflect the existing demand within the local community, and is usually delivered in conjunction with a housing association partner.
We have developed a successful joint venture strategy to deliver urban regeneration and high quality social housing, alongside private homes. In Widnes in Cheshire, it will be responsible for bringing more than 300 new homes to the southern part of the town, thanks to our joint venture with Halton Housing. More than half of these will be for rent or shared ownership. Another Russell Homes scheme in the centre of Heywood will see Onward Housing take ownership of more than a third of the houses we are building there.
There are a range of partnership and joint venture arrangements available, in a market where flexibility is the key to success. We have some sites which would benefit from such an agreement, where we are actively seeking partners, and others where we are working with housing associations from the outset. We can handle every aspect of the development, including land procurement, planning, design, and construction, helping partners to meet their housing, financial and regeneration aims.
