Bower Brook Gardens shortlisted for Best Development
A Russell Homes scheme has been shortlisted for Best Residential Development in the North West Business Insider Liverpool City Region Property Awards.
The Bower Brook Gardens development in Widnes is one of four projects to be shortlisted, and the winner will be announced at a gala dinner in Liverpool in June.
The £14million development in Page Lane saw the creation of 185 new homes, delivered in partnership with Halton Housing. A true mixed-tenure development, 123 of the homes were taken by Halton Housing for affordable rent, 10 for market rent and 10 for shared ownership.
The 42 properties sold by Russell Homes sold out within nine months, mostly to first time buyers and local people from within five miles of the development, and with many people using the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme.
Daniel Kershaw, Russell Homes director said: “Bower Brook Gardens really is an excellent example of what can be achieved when people work together for a common aim. The regeneration of this site in the heart of Widnes has provided this community with high quality new housing and a range of options for people to live in a brand new home, whether they choose to rent or to buy.
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Liverpool City Region awards. Win or not, the whole team deserves huge congratulations for the delivery if a fantastic scheme of which everyone is deservedly very proud.”
