Celebrity chef to open Greenbooth Village showhome

Celebrity chef Andrew Nutter is set to launch the new showhome at Greenbooth Village in Norden with a cooking demonstration in the brand new kitchen. And you could be there with him!

The famously passionate foodie, whose award-winning restaurant Nutters is a stone’s throw from the development, will also be cutting the ribbon at a special, invitation-only event on March 23, ahead of the public showhome launch weekend March 25 and 26.

The 2016 ‘Rochdale Man of the Year’ will be joined at the VIP preview event by two competition winners who will take part in the cooking demo before sampling the food they’ve helped prepare, alongside a host of local dignitaries, community leaders and members of the team behind the development.

Anyone visiting the sales centre between now and Sunday March 12 will be automatically entered into the prize draw to win the chance of cooking with Andrew. One lucky winner will be helping prepare and cook a dish which will then be served up to guests at the exclusive preview event from 2pm to 5pm on Thursday, March 23. The second winner will be drawn from those buyers who have already purchased a property off-plan at Greenbooth Village.

“I rarely cook at home because I’m always working or trying other people’s restaurants, so this will be as rare an experience for me as for the guests,” said Andrew. “As it’s a special occasion I’ve created a brand new dish to celebrate, and it should be a good laugh having some new ‘apprentices’ helping me out. I trained under some of the best chefs in London and France in my youth, I promise it’ll be a little less pressured in this kitchen for the demo.

“I’m looking forward to having a snoop around the new showhome once I’ve cut the ribbon, the views over the reservoir must be amazing. The development is literally across the fields from the restaurant and we’ve virtually watched it being built over the last year. It’s looking pretty great actually because the developer has used a lot of stone so they look like traditional Lancashire houses, and of course we’ll be just a short stroll away for all the new buyers to pop in for a meal, we’ll be their local !”

Situated off the Edenfield Road in the hills above Norden, Greenbooth Village is a development of 42 properties overlooking Greenbooth Reservoir. Housebuilder Russell Homes is offering a mixture of three, four and five bedroom homes, all with gardens, garages and off-street parking.

The properties were launched for sale last autumn and 10 have already been sold off plan. The first will be ready to move into by the end of March.

Gill Richardson, Russell Homes sales manager, said: “There is huge anticipation around the showhome launch, as many potential buyers just want to see a finished property before they sign on the dotted line, so I expect the weekend to be really, really busy.

“The team has worked so hard to get the development to where it is, it is looking fantastic, and there is so much pride now the showhome is nearly ready. And we’re all really looking forward to showing it off, and watching our local ‘celebrity chef’ be the first to try out the new kitchen will be the icing on the cake.”

Gill and her team will be on hand to give visitors a tour around the showhome over the launch weekend March 25 and 26, from 10am to 5pm. Private appointments can also be booked for those who cannot make the launch weekend.

To be in with a chance of meeting Andrew Nutter and winning one of the coveted cooking demonstration spots, pay a visit to the Greenbooth Village sales centre on Over Town Lane, Norden, Thursday to Monday, 10m to 5pm, before March 12.

*Terms and conditions will apply. The winner must be available for the cooking demonstration from 2pm to 5pm on Thursday, March 23. They must consent to publicity, including photography and filming. No alternative prize will be given.
