Double delight for First Time Buyers
Russell Homes has handed over the keys to its very first homeowners at Stubley Meadows in Littleborough, and all of them are first time buyers.
New neighbours Liam Hulme and Emily Hockenhull, and Alexandra Brown and Jack Clements, moved into their homes on the same day, the very first to take up residence at our latest development.
Sales manager Jackie Matheson was delighted to welcome both couples to Stubley Meadows and helped them to settle in with a bouquet of flowers and bottle of champagne to celebrate.
She said: “It’s a really wonderful day to see two young couples moving into their new homes, I’ve loved working with all of them and I’m delighted we could help them to find their ideal properties.
“Having people now starting to live here at Stubley Meadows is fantastic, it’s great to see a new community begin to blossom; neighbours getting to know each other and making friends, it makes all our hard work so worthwhile.”
Ready to move straight in
Liam Hulme, 23, is a fibreglass fabricator with GRP in Littleborough and drives past the site each day on his way to work. Despite originally planning to find a ‘doer-upper’, he and girlfriend Emily Hockenhull put down their deposit on a three-bedroom Talbot within 24 hours of visiting Stubley Meadows for the first time.
Liam said: “We had a look around on the Tuesday and called back on the Wednesday to put down our reservation fee.
“We’d saved up for ages but thought we’d only be able to afford something which needed lot of work, and were looking around Bury where I’m from and Chadderton where Emily lives. But it costs so much to do a renovation and when we saw what we could get for our money at Stubley Meadows we were blown away.
“It’s actually such a relief not to have to do any work, we can just move our furniture in and put the pictures on the walls and relax. The house is amazing, we love how much space there is and everything is finished perfectly, we can’t fault it.”
Easy commute to Manchester
Emily, 21, works for a bank in Manchester city centre. She added: “We really love the area, the people are so friendly, saying hello when you’re walking down the street that kind of thing.
“Our house is walking distance to the town centre and two train stations where it’s only 10 minutes into Manchester for work or going out, and we’re around 20 minutes from each of our families which is just perfect.”
Working in London
Alex Brown and boyfriend Jack Clements have purchased a four-bedroom Turner which will be perfect for working from home and having friends to visit. Both will continue to work their London-based jobs after moving up to Littleborough from the capital.
Accountant Alex, 25, is originally from Bamford while Jack hails from Kent. She said: “I’ve always really liked Littleborough and Jack in particular loves how you can see the hills all around and there’s Lake Hollingworth nearby. But there’s also everything need on the doorstep like shops and restaurants it’ll takes us no time to get into Manchester, from where it’s just over two hours to Euston.
“It’ll be easy enough for me to work on the train when I need to go into the office, or when I’ve something going on down in London, but then I can be back here within three hours. Living at Stubley Meadows will give us the best of both worlds.”
Rural feel, lakeside pursuits
Jack Clements, 25 works in IT and is a keen water sports enthusiast. He added: “I’m really looking forward to living in Littleborough, it’s a lovely place with hills all around and the lake for water sports, and of course the bars and restaurants all in walking distance.
“I liked the look of Stubley Meadows when we drove past, it’s got a rural feel but the location is perfect for getting into Manchester. The property we’ve bought is fantastic, it looks amazing inside and out. We’re so pleased with the finish and all the extras we specified ourselves, what we chose looks brilliant!”
