Cedar Gardens is welcome community investment
Russell Homes’ development of 46 new homes in Heywood has been welcomed for helping to regenerate the local area.
Cedar Gardens sees the regeneration of a brownfield site within an existing residential area close to Heywood town centre.
Six of the properties, a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes, were already reserved before the show home was even launched. A further 24 homes are still available to buy, with sale prices starting from £129,995, while 16 will be available for rent and shared ownership with Onward housing.
Heywood councillors and Rochdale Hornets board members Peter Rush and Ray Dutton attended the show home opening along with players Teta Sala and Brandon Wood, and pupils from the nearby St Lukes Primary school.
Councilor Dutton, chairman of Rochdale Hornets, said: “It is great to see such high-quality new build homes making the best use of brownfield land right in the heart of Heywood, the properties are very pleasing to the eye and we appreciate the investment and the regeneration of this area.
“We’re also very pleased with the support Russell Homes is showing to the local community, building links with the local primary school and providing support to the Rochdale Hornets community programme through sponsorship of the team.”
Coun Rush added: “We very much welcome Russell Homes investing here in Heywood. We are very impressed with the quality of the build and they are really enhancing what the town has to offer.”
