Russell Homes renews partnership with Rochdale Hornets

Rochdale Hornets is delighted to announce a renewed three year partnership with housebuilder Russell Homes.

Russell Homes has been a supporter of Rochdale Hornets for the last four years

Russel Homes has been a proud partner of the club, and sponsor of the Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation, for the last four years.

The renewal of the partnership to 2026 will support Hornets’ vision to become one of the most diverse and inclusive clubs in the UK.

Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey, has said: “To work with such an illustrious company is a privilege and one that will support the growth of our community framework.

“We recently announced our ‘community club’ vision aiming to increase opportunities for wheelchair users, women and girls, and people with a disability to get more involved with sport and enjoy everything rugby league has to offer.

“This, alongside our ambitious plans to develop activity in the Kirholt and Balderstone area, with our new community sports facilities, can only be achieved with the support of our generous corporate partners.

“So much of what the foundation has been able to achieve is thanks to partners like Russell Homes, and our future success will come down to this continued funding and support.

“Our aim is to create more opportunities to play rugby league and sport in general, helping to keep our community more active, healthier and engaged in positive activity. Thank you so much to Russell Homes for helping us to continue to do that.”

Russell Homes has a long association with Rochdale - having first built new properties in the borough in 2016 - and the Manchester-based developer has since delivered more than 200 new homes in Norden, Heywood and Littleborough, and is set to launch its next site as part of the new West Hopwood community later this year.

The renewed sponsorship comes after the directors were impressed with how the club’s community programme has gone from strength to strength since they got involved in 2019, and after hearing from the chairman about their exciting plans for the future with the new community facility at Balderstone Park.

Russell Homes managing director Andrew Russell said: “The Foundation’s work with local schools and community groups is absolutely fantastic. The breadth of activities and the number of people who are benefitting through their programmes is incredible.

“Whether it’s the school sports and literacy projects, pathways into rugby league for girls and people with disabilities, support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds with ‘Fit and Fed’ holiday camps, it’s all incredibly impressive and clearly making a huge impact.

“As a business we are extremely proud of what the club has achieved over the last four years. Their ambition is admirable and their success is nothing short of inspirational, and so we are very pleased to confirm our continued support for the next three years.”
