The trending interiors of 2025
Now the January blues are out of the way and we are starting to see the (very) small signs of Spring, it’s the perfect time to start brightening things up in your home. After the busyness of Christmas and the great tidy up that goes hand in hand with the season, you might already have started jotting down some ideas that you have for your home.
So, whether you’re making the move to a new home or just in need of a refresh, we’ve put together the interiors that we think are going to trend this year.
Individuality is in
We’re calling it, 2025 is the year of individuality. There has never been any rules with interiors, but we’re seeing a sense of individuality, becoming more and more predominant every year.
Homeowners are creating spaces to relax and enjoy, just for them. Selecting your favourite colour and matching your home accessories, with different textures, patterns and shapes, is a sure enough way to put your own stamp on your home. Blankets, cushions and prints, add depth and the perfect amount of personality for you. Upcycling has gained popularity over the last few years, especially from an environmental point of view, but now, homeowners are after those one-of-a-kind, statement pieces that cannot be replicated. Thrifting or purchasing second hand pieces with a view to upcycle them, is a clear way to ensure you are creating a piece of furniture, that your neighbours definitely won’t have.
Well-rounded designs
From sofas with cushions to archway entrances and kitchen countertops, curved lines have never been more popular and we are definitely seeing this well-rounded interior trend stick around.
Curvaceous shapes are providing that welcoming and comforting feel that is so craved when you arrive home after a long day out. These details can be utilised to create a softer, more seamless flow to offset the demands of modern day life. This soothing atmosphere counterbalances the strong edges and harsh lighting that is often seen with modern technologies and artificial environments. To build a natural and homely space, curved sofas provide comfort with a soft, relaxing feel and ample space.
Retro’s on the return
Bright colours, funky patterns and bold shapes are making a comeback – But this time, there is a modern twist.
We’ve talked about the individuality of upcycling thrifted furniture, which naturally brings a modern twist onto an already vintage, second hand piece. Yet, incorporating those well-known bright pops of colours with deeper accent shades really brings the mid-century modern style to life, marrying up practicality and aesthetics. Functional furniture, mixing materials and bold bright colours are adding a refreshing touch to all rooms. Several large and impressive plants, connects the outdoors with inside, and is a natural way to complete a space, combining colour and a modern touch.
In the deep, dark woods
Wood is an all-time classic material, that can be integrated into any room, in any home, due to it’s neutral nature. This year, we’re predicting the rise of dark wood, both natural and washed.
Dark browns and black woods are being incorporated into homes to align with the mid-century modern style. Pairing dark tones with bright colours, adds depth and using natural elements inside the home, can implement a rustic feel and create a cosy environment. Moreover, it pairs well with the same colour palette, alongside earthy tones, such as burnt oranges and greens, merging more of the outside, in. This natural material offers versatility, with minimum effort yet maximum impact.
Gorgeous gardens
Interiors are often a key focus when looking into what’s trending for your home, but that doesn’t mean your garden should be forgotten about.
With french doors to all our house types, you can enjoy the indoor/outdoor living lifestyle all under one roof. Pergolas are a great way to extend your home and enjoy the outdoors, yet still providing some shelter that will most likely be needed in this UK weather. You can also add some colour and a personal touch to your pergola, by including a climbing plant to spiral up the sides. Currently, there is a huge focus on creating friendly spaces for wildlife to thrive and reducing any environmental impacts. Hedgehog highways, bird feeders, bat boxes and planting wildflower, is an impactful way to support nature and our ecosystems, with minimal effort. Creating a space that you can unwind and relax, can be enhanced by the plants you choose for your garden. Whether your choice is based on colour, your favourite tree or groundcover plants such as lavender, thyme or dymondia, which not only smell sensational, but look pretty and provide a resting place for insects.
