Double delight for first-time buyers

Our first homes at Stubley Meadows in Littleborough, have now been moved into, both of them purchased by young first-time buyers.

New neighbours, Liam Hulme and Emily Hockenhull, and Alexandra Brown and Jack Clements, moved into their new homes on the same day, the very first to take up residence at our latest development.

Sales Manager, Jackie Matheson, was delighted to welcome both couples to Stubley Meadows and helped them celebrate their new homes with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne.

“It’s a really wonderful day to see two young couples moving into their new homes. I’ve loved working with them and I’m delighted we could help them find their ideal properties. Having people now starting to live at Stubley Meadows is fantastic! It’s great to see a new community begin to blossom, neighbours getting to know each other and making plenty of friends, it makes all our hard work so worthwhile.”

Liam Hulme, 23, is a fibreglass fabricator with GRP in Littleborough and drove past the site each day on his way to work. Despite originally planning to find a ‘doer-upper’, they decided to put down their deposit on the three-bedroom Talbot within 24 hours of visiting Stubley Meadows for the first time.

He said: “We had a look around on the Tuesday and called back on the Wednesday to put down our reservation fee. We’d saved up for ages but thought we’d only be able to afford something which needed a lot of work, and were looking around Bury where I’m from and Chadderton where Emily lived. But it costs so much to do a renovation and when we saw what we could get for our money at Stubley Meadows we were blown away.”

“It’s such a relief not to have to do any work, we can just move our furniture in, put our pictures on the walls and just relax. The house is amazing, we love how much space there is and everything is finished perfectly – We can’t fault it!”

Emily, 21, works for a bank in Manchester city centre.

She added: “We really love the area, the people are so friendly, saying hello when you’re walking down the street, that kind of thing. Our house is walking distance to the town centre and there is two train stations [Littleborough and Smithy Bridge], where it’s only 10 minutes into Manchester which is perfect for work or going out. We’re both around 20 minutes from our families, which is just perfect.”

Alex Brown and boyfriend, Jack Clements, have purchased a four-bedroom Turner which is perfect for working from home and having friends to visit. Both will continue their London-based jobs after moving up to Littleborough, from the capital.

Accountant Alex, 25, is originally from Bamford, while Jack hails from Kent.

She said: “I’ve always really liked Littleborough and Jack in particular loves how you can see the hills all around and Lake Hollingworth, nearby. There’s also everything you need on your doorstep, like shops and restaurants, and it takes us no time at all, to get into Manchester and it’s only two hours to Euston.”

“It’ll be easy enough for me to work on the train when I need to go into the office, or when I’ve got something going on down in London, yet I can be back home within three hours. Stubley Meadows gives us the best of both worlds.”

Jack Clements, 25, works in IT and is a keen water sports enthusiast.

“I’m really looking forward to living in Littleborough, it’s a lovely place with hills all around, the lake for water sports, and of course, the bars and restaurants are all within walking distance.”

He added: “I liked the look of Stubley Meadows when we drove past, it’s got a rural feel but the location is perfect for getting into Manchester. The property we’ve bought is fantastic, it looks amazing inside and out. We’re so pleased with the finish and all the extras we chose, they look brilliant!”
