  • Keep your walking shoes on – and take a trip to Watergrove Reservoir, which is located between Littleborough and Rochdale, and has on-site parking and a picnic spot
  • Make friends with all sorts of furry animals at Lancaster Park and Animal Farm – look forward to petting pygmy goats, rabbits, donkeys and ponies at this must-visit venue for animal-lovers of all ages
  • Head to Littleborough Coach House and Heritage Centre – where you’ll find an art gallery, craft displays and a café where you can stop off and refuel – the ideal solution if you’re just looking to break up the day with a quick change of scene

  • Sit back with a tub of popcorn and enjoy the latest films – including Lilo & Stitch and Elio at Reel Cinema in Rochdale. The new schedule is released every Tuesday
  • Enjoy the stunning sights and sounds at The Healey Dell Heritage Centre and Tea Rooms – with its Edwardian-themed charm and enviable outlook across the banks of River Spodden. Learn all about its history in the Heritage Centre and tuck into a delicious dish from its extensive range of menus, including its Afternoon Tea and Children’s Menu
  • Let off some steam at the TeamKarting indoor kart track – the only full-Tarmac and all-petrol go kart indoor carting circuit. Sessions are open to all drivers aged 15 and over

  • Explore Arley Hall’s 15-acre gardens, café, gift shop and children’s play area – and don’t forget to check out their monthly events calendar, which includes outdoor theatre performances and a charity outdoor concert in July, and firework displays, more outdoor theatre and a Great British Motor Show meet in August
  • Take a stroll around Marbury Park – and enjoy spectacular views over the water to the church at Great Budworth and explore the arboretum and community orchard. There’s also a play area and a neighbouring picnic spot too, if you want to stay for longer
  • Keep cool with a scoop (or two) of delicious real diary ice cream – from Great Budworth Ice Cream Farm. Seasonal activities include a maze trail (open from July until October), while you can always pay a visit to the animal paddocks and meet rare breed chickens, sheep and the farm’s friendly goat, Marty
